Nucleus of Bees (deposit)

Our complete small colony of honey bees on 6 frames with brood at all stages; eggs, larvae, sealed brood and at least one frame of food stores make this the ideal way to start beekeeping. These bees are on 14x12 frames which are suitable for a standard 14x12 brood box or WBC 14x12 brood box.

We take great pride in our nuc production and we guaranteed you will not be disappointed with the bees. Over wintered nucs are grown on new frames from the previous summer and nurtured over winter. Only once we are completely happy that the bees are ready to be hived and that the weather is suitable will we start to let them go out. Prior to leaving us, all nucs are rigorously checked and the queens are remarked if necessary.

Both the overwintered and spring 14x12 nucs come in a polystyrene nuc hive with built in feeder. Spring nucs will have travel screens on them to keep them cooler in warmer weather when transporting. The poly nuc hive is an essential piece of kit to add to your beekeeping equipment.
